Funerals
As an independent funeral celebrant, I will work with you to ensure that your loved one is given a fitting tribute to their life, not an 'off the peg' service.
However long or short a life, saying goodbye is difficult, and I will look after you and your ceremony with compassion, care and respect. I will listen as you tell me all about your loved one and create a bespoke ceremony of words and music to reflect their life. The ceremony can be as secular or spiritual as you wish.
I can lead your full funeral ceremony, or support you to lead as much as you feel able to. I can write and deliver a eulogy based on the stories and memories you share with me, or I can support you to write and deliver a eulogy yourself.
Please see the bottom of this page for details on what I offer as a funeral celebrant.
If you are opting for a crematorium ceremony, I will liaise with your chosen Funeral Director to ensure things go smoothly. I am trained in the Obitus and Wesley music and media systems used by most crematoria.
I am also able to create ceremonies for interments, natural burials or the scattering of ashes.

Memorials
Memorial ceremonies can be small and intimate or huge celebrations of life. They can take place soon after a loved one has died, or long afterwards to mark an anniversary, or simply pay tribute to their life. They can be joyous occasions, solemn occasions or a mix of both; I will create a ceremony according to your wishes.
Perhaps your loved one had a direct cremation without service, and you wish to have the opportunity to come together and say goodbye. Maybe time has passed, and as you have navigated your grief, you want a different celebration of your loved one's life. Whatever the reason, I will work with you to create a memorial ceremony to honour your loved one's life.
Living Funerals
If you've ever been at a funeral and really wished that the person was able to hear all the wonderful tributes and declarations of love and thanks given for them, then you've felt the story behind living funerals. A living funeral is a celebration of life before death, giving everybody a chance to share thoughts and memories together,
It is becoming more common for people to take control of their own end of life arrangements, and for some, a living funeral can give peace and comfort in their remaining time with us. For those who are elderly or terminally ill, being in charge of the finale of your life can be empowering. It can be formal, or a giant party - it's your life, and your call.
If you think a living funeral might be for you, do get in touch to talk more about it.
Pet Funerals
Pets are part of the family, and saying goodbye to them can be heartbreaking. If you would like a ceremony to mark the life of your pet and support your family in saying goodbye, I can create a ceremony that is completely bespoke to you and your pet.
Ceremonies may include burials or scattering of ashes, or may simply be a memorial tribute. Children may wish to share memories as part of the ceremony. Ceremonies could take place at home, or at a place the pet loved to visit.
What I offer for all funeral or memorial ceremonies:
Initial planning meeting (in person or online), incorporating a family questionnaire to share memories and help me get to know your loved one's story
Support in planning the ceremony, whether crematorium, burial site, woodland, home, garden, hotel or other location
Liaison with your Funeral Director if appropriate
Writing of the full ceremony script, including personalised wording for all elements you wish to include
Ideas, support and sourcing of music, readings and poems
Eulogy writing based on your stories and memories, or support writing your own
Officiating the ceremony on the day
A copy of your ceremony to keep afterwards
Fees from £230
Additional costs may be payable for ceremonies over 40 miles from Southport, UK, or for additional items and services.
A 20% deposit is required to secure your date in the case of memorial services or living funerals.
