Why choose an independent celebrant?

As an independent celebrant, I can offer complete choice and complete inclusivity for all.

An independent celebrant is able to create and officiate ceremonies that are secular, vaguely religious or spiritual, or anywhere in between. If you want a completely secular ceremony, great! If you want to pop in a prayer, blessing, ritual or piece of music from a religious tradition, that's fine too! If you want to represent two cultural heritages combined, no problem! Formal, fun or both. Anything goes - it's your choice. The same goes for your venue or location.

Whoever you are, whatever the occasion, choosing an independent celebrant means that the ceremony, whether wedding, funeral, naming or anything else, is completely bespoke and personal, and captures exactly what you want it to be.

Independent Celebrant-Led Weddings

Currently (although hopefully this will change soon) in England, if you wish to use an independent celebrant, for your marriage to be legally recognised you must complete the basic legal formalities at the Register office. This is incredibly quick, not expensive, and can be done before or after your independent celebrant-led wedding day, when you are free to have the ceremony and celebration you want, wherever you want, as you do not need to use specific legal wording or use a licensed venue. Even if a venue is licensed, you can still have a ceremony led by an independent celebrant.

Perhaps you don't want a religious ceremony, but you also don't want the restrictions of a Registrar-led ceremony either. Perhaps you want a mix of both. Perhaps you want something completely different! This is where an independent celebrant can help. We can curate a ceremony that is exactly what you want it to be, and include anything you want within it. The script for the day is based on your wants and needs, and nothing else!

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for crafting such a beautiful ceremony. Everyone has said how emotionally intense they found it, and how well choreographed. I knew you'd be the perfect person to hold the reins and I wasn't wrong."
